Hello, my beauties! It has been an absolute ridiculous amount of time since I've posted on my blog. . . but, my career moves are allowing me more time to focus on the creative part of my life!
Since I've been away for so long, I figured that I would make a post about a celebrity that has been on my favorites list for a while--and that celebrity (if you haven't quite figured it out yet) is Tina Fey!
I've been absolutely adoring the direction her career is going and how her empire has grown since her popular role in the movie "Baby Mama".
I wish I had access to the rest of the photoshoot, but I will buy the magazine and do a full review on my youtube channel at The BazaarLifeStyle NY!
The real reason I haven't made the magazine purchase JUST yet is because I'm
dying to see what the alternate cover looks like for Elle magazine subscribers--but, I absolutely adore the stand copy as well!
I feel like this is one (of many) great move for Tina! I feel like this is only going to boost her career as a new found fashion reference--although, I don't think that was her goal.
I've been dying to dive into her (somewhat) new book "Bossypants", but for whatever reason, the hesitation is SO real! I've picked up Sophia Amoruso's, #GirlBoss, and the late great Betty Halbreich's, I'll Drink to That, . . . so, I feel like it's the next natural move! (Btw - if you have not read any of the two books, do yourself a favor!).
On my next trip for coffee. . . which may be within the next fifteen minutes, I just might pick it up and do a review on my blog! Agreed?
Does she not look absolutely astounding on this cover?
She's slaying for every last God, sitting atop their cloud, in complete devastation of her clear audacity. You go, Tina!
This was a great cover choice and I applaud Elle (*insider scoop* - who has since lost Joe Zee, their former Creative Director, to Yahoo! style)!
Thanks to you all, as always, for stopping by! Visit my youtube channel linked above and subscribe!
'“They told me it’s all over the Internet, so I’m really, really happy,”'
said Zoe Saldaña of becoming the newest face of L’Oréal Paris."
I don't think there is anyone in this world more excited (besides Zoe herself) than me to know that this beautiful face and spirit will be featured in L’Oréal Paris ads all across the world. Zoe Saldaña has been one of my favorite actresses since that somewhat awful movie "Crossroads" starring Britney Spears in 2002.
Never one to be in the spotlight (no pun intended), Zoe, in my opinion, is taking quite a gamble with being associated with L’Oréal--especially because of their unsolved debates of whether or not they test their ever evolving products on animals (which is a deal breaker for most--including myself)--but I think it's also the best move for her career.
I love the way she keeps her hair and makeup very simplistic while her outfits are daring and "outspoken". I feel that Zoe is an awesome choice because she is intelligent, respectful to herself, her image, and those around her--all the while letting her reputation speak for itself. I'm excited to see her new made-for-television mini-series, "Rosemary's Baby" and new movies "Nina" where she portrays the amazing Nina Simone and "Guardians of the Galaxy"--it's been quite a wait, Zoe!
In the end, Bravo to Ms. Zoe Saldaña for snagging this enormous deal--this is an amazing chance to continue to be the amazing role model to all of our young ladies, especially to our young ladies of color (black and Hispanic, alike). Bravo to L’Oréal Paris for picking such an influential person to represent your company. . . We'll talk about your habits of testing on animals later!
Thank you to all of the beauties that tuned in for this post! Don't forget to check out myYoutube Channel!
Hey, lovies! It's been quite a while, but I figured that it would be an awesome idea to jump back into my blog with a post of my newest Youtube video--quite a large haul!
I apologize for the long pause in between posts, but there has been a lot going on in life and the punches just seem to keep rolling in--so I just needed some time. Now, I miss my blog dearly and am ready to continue with making posts!
I hope you all enjoy my video and when you get a chance, please click the link provided below and take a look at my other videos!
Hello, my beauties! Welcome back to my blog! It's been quite a while since I've posted on my blog and for that I truly apologize! Today I just wanted to keep things simple by posting some of my favorite NYFW "Street Style" photos! I hope you all enjoy and find inspiration from them!
Hello, Dolls and welcome back to my blog! Today I just wanted to show off a few pieces of jewelry that I picked up in the sale area of H&M!
I absolutely LOVE H&M and I hate going in there because it's a guarantee that I'll spend a lot of money! But, this time around was a little different! Their sail items were all 50% off of the sale price. . . Yeah, I know.
I feel like I'm the only person in the world that gets excited over things like that--it's the little things, ya know?
Anyway, I double checked online to see if the sale and the items that I purchased were available, but it's only an in-store luxury!
But, hm.com is still having a killer sale with items marked up to 75% off the original price (lol, don't you just hate me?)!
Hello, Dolls! Welcome back the world that is mine! As you may or may not know, I LOVE to cook! I've been cooking since the young and tender age of twelve!
When I was younger, I was bullied a lot so I would stay in the house alone and I used to seek solace in food. It's quite a sad story, but that's why I have such a knack for cooking--of course I've made adjustments and make healthier choices!
Today's post is going toward shining light on a new recipe that I've come up with and I'm excited to share it with the masses! I'm pretty sure it's been done before, but I'm posting it anyway because I want those that don't cook often or need to re-vamp some old dishes!
I hope you guys try it and enjoy!
*Side Note* - This is how I prep this dish, you can use any products that you and your family enjoy!
1 Box of Organic Whole Wheat Fettuccine
1 Jar of Organic precut Artichokes
1 Jar of Organic Roasted Crushed Tomatoes
3 Fresh Bay Leaves
Fresh - Marjoram, Sage, Thyme, Savory, Rosemary, Oregano, Basil, Parsley, Sea Salt, and Crushed Black Pepper
2 cloves of fresh Garlic
2 1/2 tablespoons of Light Sour Cream
2 tablespoons of grape-seed or olive oil (for sautéing)
1 medium sized onion
1 medium sized green bell pepper
Place a pot of water with salt and oil (whichever you prefer) over medium heat to begin the boiling process.
Heat your oil in a non-stick pan until it's hot enough to sizzle your onions, peppers, and fresh minced garlic--sauté until trio has begun to caramelize.
Then add about 1 cup of your pre prepped artichokes and 1 cup of your jarred crushed tomatoes to the pan and let simmer.
Add a pinch of salt and pepper; chop and add all of your fresh herbs (leave 1 Bay Leaf for garnishing) and let the flavors marry with one another.
After about five minutes of letting your sauce simmer, add your 2 1/2 tablespoons of Light Sour Cream and stir sauce until everything is nicely emulsified. Let simmer.
*Note* - If sauce it on the thicker side, add some of the tomato juice from the jar to loosen it up a bit.
When the water comes to a boil add your pasta and let cook to your satisfaction (my family likes the pasta al dente).
Taste sauce and add extra herbs or salt as needed.
Rinse pasta, plate, and place sauce on top!
Garnish with the extra bay leaf and viola!
